American-Palestinian Teenager Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth after completing nine months in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest last February within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, our priority is getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions for months."

American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to the state department and President Donald Trump, urging greater action for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment through judicial records.

He stayed absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, report instances of abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
