The Comedy Series Brassic Ends Its Run with Influenced by Tarantino Last Episode
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of likable chancers causing chaos in a countryside town in Lancashire. One could anticipate the last episode to be a greatest hits victory lap of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. But, the atmosphere turns much more somber as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the crew barricade themselves in a pub with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment seemingly influenced by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
Dragons’ Den
8pm on BBC One
Ballet dancers leap into the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey present their line of inclusive dancewear – and cause Peter Jones to become flustered. Then, an ophthalmologist turned innovator has a clever gadget for lost tape ends.
The Series All Creatures Great and Small
9pm, Channel 5
The veterinary adventures are all fine, but this excellent historical series proves its worth with tender character work. A particularly affecting episode weaves the stories of a lame shire horse and a vanished calf into a more serious storyline focusing on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a fraternal intervention.
The Hack
9pm, ITV1
It’s been a long road. Yet the second-to-last episode of this initially sluggish but ultimately compelling phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. Things are also looking up for the character Dave, who has a surprising new ally.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm on BBC Three
Prepare for enthusiastic gestures: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the queens to perform vocally, dance, and act and ultimately slay as they prepare for the production. And who better to guest judge than West End stage legend Mazz Murray, alongside the panel including Graham Norton, Michelle Visage, and RuPaul.
The Iris Affair
9pm, Sky Atlantic
Those with a phobia of creepy crawlies will want to skip ahead as episode six begins, before a tense standoff, reminiscent of a Mexican or Sardinian scenario ensues, when Cameron compels Iris to swap her diary for the captured Joy – else she’ll be “shot repeatedly” from the threatening drone controlled by Meski … How to get out of this one?
